My Blog Log tracking you

Last day I came across The Net Business blog and found that Shoemoney has posted about a possible MBL tracking and selling your sites Adsense and YPN click data. So I thought about writing to Eric of MBL about the tracking and got this reply
I started looking at this code, and I noticed something odd. Why were the urls to Google adsense and YPN servers in the code? This is the piece that caught my attention. Notice that it’s ripped from a Mint plug-in that tracks ad click stats.
.
.
.
The bottom line is that MyBlogLog is tracking AdSense and YPN clicks too. (Update: They do show you ads clicks in MBL Pro. Not having Pro does NOT stop the tracking from loading.) Who else gets this data? I don’t know about you, but I’d rather keep my ad click stats to myself. So in your own word Eric, “On what planet is that not a bannable offense?”.

You can read the full story at Shoemoney's and see for yourself the Javascript code used by MBL. He also have some additional info.

Eric's ReplyThis is what he said. The fact that Analytics tracks YPN is pretty obvious as they are competitors. Anyway I think MBL wont sell your click data to somebody. He says they havn't sold any data not that they wont sell!. I won't be much concerned even if they sell that. But the visitors here might be. If there is any info about MBL selling the data Ill be removing MBL tracker from this blog.

Actually now a days there is a lot going against Google, their problem in China, Orkut's anti India communities, Youtube copyright violations and to add there is also a roumer that Google is giving CIA complete access to Gmail. I don't know what Googles response will be. Any way many a people are sure to be concious about their privacy and is gonna ask Google an explanation. So much for the privacy concios Americans. Whats that private stuff which when read by CIA is gonna turn the world upside down, By the way if you want to send some confidential informations you should have used a secure services.
